Welcome to Off the Main Road
We’re Cam and Neil, two Aussies travelling our country full-time, with our senior Staffy, Zoe, riding shotgun. We take the long way round, chase soft light on quiet roads, and tell honest stories from places most people pass through on their way somewhere else.
Off the Main Road began as a way to capture the small things. The dusty back tracks, country humour and the big skies that stay with you long after you’ve packed up camp. Over time, it’s grown into something bigger: a library of slow travel stories, photography, and practical guides from across regional and outback Australia.
We travel the way we do because we’ve learned that our beautiful country reveals itself differently when you’re not rushing. Small towns feel warmer when you linger. Long drives feel lighter when you’re not watching the clock. The best moments, a conversation with a local, a lookout you stumbled across, a sunrise nobody else was awake for, only happen when you give yourself enough room to notice them.
