The Canning Stock Route stretches 1,850 kilometres through the Western Australian desert, from Wiluna in the south to Halls Creek in the north. Built between 1906 and 1910 to drove cattle through some of the most inhospitable country on earth, it crosses five deserts, passes 51 wells, and remains one of the most challenging and rewarding 4WD journeys in Australia.
